Dear Leaders Network Members and Supporters,

Our dynamic Co-Chairs - Rev. Ira J. Acree, Rev. Marshall Hatch and Rev. Cy Fields - continue to be on the front lines for the people on Chicago's west side. From demanding police accountability, raising reward money and calling for justice for children shot on our streets, engaging public officials at the city, county, state and federal levels, representing and ministering families impacted by our city's violence and the international COVID-19 pandemic, we can always count on these leaders for their consistent life-long work for social justice. I am proud to stand with these men of God whom you can count on in good or troubled times.

Athena Williams, Michelle Collins, Marshall Hatch Jr. and Board Secretary Deborah Williams led the way as we launched the work of starting our own West Side Credit Union. We have a dynamic Executive Council and this work will continue into 2021.

We started the year with three robust and informative meetings at the Columbus Park Refectory. After the pandemic shutdown, we have continued our monthly meetings on the second Tuesdayof the month at 9:30 am via Zoom. Our meetings have featured guests such as Chicago City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin, Chicago Public Schools CEO Dr. Janice Jackson, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown, Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas, State Senator Kimberly Lightford, Cook County Clerk Dorothy Brown, State Representative LaShawn K. Ford, State Representative Camille Lilly, Illinois Senate President Don Harmon and a wide range of other guests speaking about politics, education, health, policing, violence and so many issues vital to our community.

Last month, we were honored to host Rev. Al Sharpton at the South Shore Cultural Center for a Get Out the Vote Press Conference and Book Signing. "Rise Up: Confronting a Country at the Crossroads" is a timely book about all of the events taking place in our nation.
