Leaders Network Calls on City & State for Flood Disaster Support
/The Leaders Network thanks everyone who joined Tuesday’s monthly meeting. Your participation – with special guest speakers Rev. Janette Wilson of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Illinois Senate President Don Harmon, President Kari Steele of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and 37th Ward Alderwoman Emma Mitts – prompted Harmon to contact Governor JB Pritzker. Harmon announced during our meeting that Pritzker was declaring a disaster area for the west side and other affected areas of Cook County. This will enable funds to become available for west side residents who are suffering through the catastrophe which struck our communities. The Leaders Network will continue to be here fighting for compensation and justice for the west side.
