Clergy to March on the Department of Justice - August 28th, 2017

ABOUT

The Leaders Network and local clergy team led by Rev. Cy Fields, Rev. Ira Acree, and Rev. Marshall Hatch will be joining the National Action Network to demand the preservation of federal oversight over local law enforcement.  On August 28th, 2017 they will march among 1,000 other clergy in the Dream Busters March in Washington D.C. from the King Memorial to the Department of Justice because the current administration and Attorney General Jeff Sessions are opposing the vision and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  King's speech was delivered on the same day in 1963, and this march will take place in honor of his vision of social justice and racial equality, and to see it become a reality. Reinstitution of mandatory minimum sentencing and other 'rollbacks' would work against this vision and further set back justice and equality.

From the event organizers, National Action Network:

As a moral responsibility, religious leaders must speak out for the communities that they represent.
